Legal LLM Implementation

We provide a range of services to support evaluation, implementation, and improvement of LLMs performing legal tasks. Our core services focus on assessing the quality of legal data available for the use case, using that data to create a legal framework tailored to the use case, and evaluating LLM legal reasoning performance.

For contract redlining use cases, we offer clients flat fee arrangements for the core services below. Additional support for contract redlining or other LLM use cases is available to clients at standard hourly rates.

Legal Frame Assessment

    • Assesses the quality and quantity of legal data (e.g., redlines, playbooks) available to support the client’s use case

    • Provides a report card and readiness recommendations

    • Identify gaps in legal reasoning and highlights areas to improve LLM alignment with the client’s legal context and priorities.

    • Identify reasoning inconsistencies that affect meaningful LLM evaluations

Legal Frame

  • Creates a machine-readable version of the client’s legal playbook.

  • Guide the LLM to redline based on client-specific legal and business objectives rather than generic playbooks or word matching

LLM Legal Reasoning Evaluation

  • Assesses an LLM’s issue spotting, legal reasoning, playbook alignment, consistency, and technical drafting performance

    • When evaluating new tools: Compare how different LLMs perform the same task with the same dataset with the same legal frame.

    • When updating existing tools: Compare how one LLM performs the same task “before and after” the update (e.g., the Legal Frame)

    • Identifies performance areas where human legal supervision may be particularly critical

Flat Fee Arrangements: Joint Offerings with SLI
